Indictment Handed Down In Double Murder-Attempted Murder-Home Invasion Case Against Black Las Vegas Man

This scumbag brutally attacked a legal or illegal alien family living in Las Vegas (that aspect of the story isn't made clear), nearly killing the father with a hammer, then killing the mother and their 10-year old daughter but sparing two sons hiding in the house.

A grand jury in Nevada has indicted a 22-year-old man on multiple criminal charges that could get him the death penalty in the sexual assault and killing of a mother and daughter and the near-fatal hammer attack on their husband and father in their Las Vegas home.

Attorneys for Bryan Devonte Clay Jr. didn't immediately respond to messages about a 10-count indictment hand up Wednesday in Clark County District Court.

Family members and police say Clay was a stranger to the immigrant family members he is accused of attacking April 15 in their modest West Las Vegas neighborhood home.

A 9-year-old and his 4-year-old brother were spared during the attack. They spent more than 24 hours in the house before the older boy went to school the next day and told administrators that his mom and sister were dead at the bloody home.

Police reported finding a horrific scene, with Ignacia Yadira Martinez, 38, and her 10-year-old daughter, Karla, 10, dead in their beds and Arturo Martinez, 39, badly injured in the living room. He spent almost a month in the hospital for treatment of severe head injuries.

Clay also is accused of trying to rape a 50-year-old woman on a quiet street hours before the attack at the Martinez home.

Police say he told detectives during a recorded interview following his arrest April 27 that he drank alcohol, took Ecstasy and smoked PCP while partying with his brother, and he didn't remember the alleged attacks.

Clay is being held at the Clark County jail pending arraignment June 13. He isn't eligible for bail.

Arturo Martinez worked as an electrician and coached teens in boxing after moving to Las Vegas with his wife from Mexico in the late 1990s.

He and his sons are living with Martinez's sister, Gaudia Martinez-Seal, in Las Vegas. She didn't immediately respond Wednesday to a message.
