Romney Campaign, Sabato Think Romney Will Win All 22 States That McCain Won In 2008 Of Which (my version of title)

Here are the 22 states that McCain won in 2008 in the General Election:

AK, AL, AR, AZ, GA, ID, KS, KY, LA, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, OK, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, WV and WY

Now, ask yourselves this question:

Is Romney in trouble in any of these states and if so, which ones?

Let's put the question another way:

How many of these 22 states are Evangelically "heavy" states?

Answer: 12

AL (9), AR(6), GA (15), KY (8), LA (9), MO (11), MS (6), OK (7), SC (8), TN (11), TX (34) and WV (5)

Which states did Romney lose in this year's primary season?

Answer: 13, of which 12 are Evangelically heavy.

He lost 2 to Gingrich (GA and SC) and 11 to Santorum (AL, CO, IA, KS, LA, MN, MO, MS, ND, OK and TN).

CO and IA are blue states. Even if he picks up PA, Romney has his work cut out for himself in the South with the exception of FL, particularly if he picks a RINO VP running mate. And Ohio's not going to be easy to win; Santorum nearly beat him there in the primary, losing by just 10,000 votes.

And one other thing, three things, actually--AR (6), OK (7) and TN (11). 41-50% of the Republican registered voters in these three states are Evangelicals. Those are huge numbers! These are the "super-Evangelical states".

Arkansas' primary isn't until May 22nd but the results really don't mean much as Santorum and Gingrich have dropped out. Romney has no effective opposition.

But will the Evangelicals in these three Conservative states and in the other Envangelically heavy states come out for Romney in the General Election?
