Romney Has A Perfect Opportunity To Attack Soetoro-Obama On The Open Border
by Dave Levine
The killing of one of our Border Patrol agents, Nicholas Ivie, near Naco, AZ yesterday--8 miles inside the U.S.--is a tragedy that should not have happened. This brave agent died and another was shot multiple times and survived because Soetoro-Obama has left our Border wide open.
Said a property owner in Bisbee today in the follow-up story on Agent Ivie's murder at

"There is no security on the border--none!" said Edward L. Thomas, who owns rental properties in Bisbee.

This incident leaves Soetoro-Obama vulnerable to criticism on illegal immigration/the fence should Romney decide to attack him on that issue.
Soetoro-Obama has refused to build one foot of the double-layered fence as required by The Secure Fence Act signed by Bush in October 2006. Bush only succeeded in building 15 miles of it (near Yuma where it's been very successful in stopping incursions) in part because he dragged his rear end and only got around to it in his 6th year in office. It was former Congressman Duncan Hunter who pushed him to sign that Act. The other reason Bush only built 15 miles of it was due to the Dems winning back the House just weeks after he signed the Act. Once they took back the House in January 2007, they immediately defunded the Act and no construction on the double-layered fence--one of the best ways of stopping the Invasion--has been made since.
The blood of at least one U.S. Border Patrol agent is on Soetoro-Obama's hands. Romney has that card to play if he wants to.
Tomorrow's debate will be on the economy, not illegal immigration though illegal immigration plays a large role in why the economy is so bad.
Will Romney play the illegal immigration card? Probably not because he's weak on it himself having pushed his "touchback Amnesty" scheme for six years and only stopping that "push" in mid-December when he began to realize that he would be the nominee.
However, it would seem foolish to miss such an opportunity when the news about the attack on our BP agents 8 miles inside the U.S. is still "news". Romney could easily "couch" the criticism so that it shows respect for the fallen agent while connecting it to the Open Border which is the President's responsibility (to protect the nation from Invasion).
