Senator Jim DeMint Tries To Pull "A Snow Job" On Conservative Voters By Asking For Support For RINOs Flake, Allen, Smith And Mandel
by Dave Levine
The Dave Levine Show generally supports Senator DeMint. On August 1, 2011, allahpundit.com posted this piece on the Senator's efforts to purge RINOs from Congress at
http://hotair.com/archives/2011/08/01/source-demint-might-back-prim...
However, that "purge" was primarily over FISCAL votes like their vote on the Debt Ceiling Bill, NOT on unconstitutional bills like The Patriot Act and the NDAA.
In May 2012, DeMint came out for Rep. Jeff Flake who is running for retiring Sen. Kyl's seat.
Here's what I and other Conservatives wrote about DeMint's support of RINO Flake instead of getting behind Will Cardon at

Senator Jim DeMint has made some truly horrific votes in the past two years and was already on the Show's "bad list" of supposed Conservatives-turned-RINO, but this is the last straw! Rep. Flake is one of THE WORST RINOs in Congress. I thought Sen. DeMint only endorsed Conservatives. Well, he seems to endorse any pol with an "R" by his/her name.
Law and order Columnist W. James Antle III had a great piece on Flake on April 26, 2011 at
http://www.theamericanconservative.com/blog/is-jeff-flake-arizonas-...
Antle wrote,

Congressman Jeff Flake, who represents Arizona’s Sixth District, is the only major Republican running for Kyl’s Senate seat. He has already raised over $1 million at this early stage of the race, scaring off potential competitors. Flake is in many respects an impeccable conservative, especially on fiscal policy. Yet according to NumbersUSA, Flake has a worse recent record on immigration than even McCain. In fact, his grade is worse than all but two members of Arizona’s congressional delegation—both liberal Democrats.
Unlike Kyl, Flake is an amnesty true believer. He has sponsored or voted for pardoning illegal immigrants at least six times. Flake teamed with Congressman Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill.) in introducing the STRIVE Act, which would have given amnesty to the overwhelming majority of illegal immigrants present in the country, subject to the usual dubious conditions, while creating a generous new guest-workers program.
Flake opposed Proposition 200, a state ballot initiative that required proof of U.S. citizenship before voting or collecting certain government benefits. The referendum passed with 56 percent of the vote, including 47 percent of Hispanics. Flake also opposed SB 1070, the immigration-enforcement bill that thrust Arizona to the center of the national debate and rescued Gov. Jan Brewer’s re-election campaign the way Proposition 187 saved California Gov. Pete Wilson 16 years before. According to one poll, 88 percent of Arizona Republicans favor SB 1070.
On paper, it would seem then that Flake is vulnerable on this issue. But the congressman is already emulating John McCain in backing away from his past support of amnesty. He voted against the DREAM Act—which would have provided permanent resident status for some illegal immigrants—during the lame-duck session last year. He opposed the federal lawsuit against SB 1070. And he has made the proper enforcement-first noises in his primary campaign to date, going so far as to tell Mother Jones that he didn’t think any path to citizenship could pass until the country got serious about border security.

U.S. Rep. Jeff Flake has perfected his dip-and-dodge routine to the point that he is unable to give a straight answer to questions regarding his slipperiness on conservative issues, even to decidedly liberal publications such as Mother Jones. Instead, the libertarian Flake tried to convince Mother Jones (Jeff Flake’s Immigration Problem) that we are all on the same ambiguous page — which is anything but the truth:
“As you might be able to tell,” he disingenuously says,” Arizona voters have a bit of a libertarian streak, an independent streak. I think they appreciate a politician who isn’t lockstep in any one way.”
The truth is, Republicans, Independents and voters of all stripes aligned with the Tea Party, are categorically conservative.
In his article, Ariz. Senate Candidate Jeff Flake Indicates That Visa-Overstayers Shouldn’t Have To Go Home, Roy Beck of NumbersUSA, writes that Flake showed that he just can’t let go of his pro-amnesty views despite their liability to him in his run for the AZ Senate seat in 2012.
Beck calls Flake’s quotes in the Mother Jones article “even more radical than anything he’s ever said before, and that includes all of his work with Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill.) for a comprehensive amnesty.”
On their immigration reduction report card, NumbersUSA gives Gutierrez a grade of F-. Govtrack Lists Gutierrez as a “lonely far-left Democrat.“ It’s a good bet most of the East Valley conservatives in Jeff Flake’s district are unfamiliar with the alliance — which Flake did his best to hide when Gutierrez was in Phoenix as part of his 17-city amnesty tour.
In this article The Numbers Are On Our Side, Gutierrez credits Jeff Flake for his support as “hard-working immigrants are turning red states blue.”

Rep. Flake is now "a firster", someone who's against Amnesty "until we secure the Border". So he's still FOR Amnesty--"Let's just put it off till I get elected to 6 years in the Good Old Boy Senate!"
Here's the story on Sen. DeMint's endorsement of Rep. Flake:
http://www.newsmax.com/Politics/DeMint-Flake-Arizona-Senate/2012/04...
If Arizonans are smart--and I know they are except when it comes to their fear of going against John McCain, something I've never understood--they'll elect Will Cardon. While Cardon isn't as tough on illegal immigration as we'd like (he never responded to my email to his campaign asking whether he supports 1070, etc.), he's a damn sight better than Flake!
If Flake wins, look for a Teddy Kennedy-style push for Amnesty from the Republicans in the Senate even greater than that of Sen. Rubio's current DREAM Act Amnesty bill. RINOs are destroying the GOP and Jeff Flake is one of THE WORST!
How Newsmax can call DeMint "a Conservative" is beyond me but then, Newsmax is the RINOs' favorite site, boasting of being a conservative news org yet endorsing liberals like Schwarzenegger and other pro-Amnesty RINOs like Jeff Flake in the past.
************************************************************
Today, August 30, 2012, Sen. DeMint sent me the following request to support RINOs like Jeff Flake simply to take the Senate back which would give President Romney carte blanche--anything he wants, he gets.

Fellow Conservatives:
If you want to stop the massive growth of our federal government and save America's future, we must change the United States Senate.
Harry Reid and the Democrats control the Senate today and, unfortunately, we still have too many Republicans who lack the courage to fight for our nation's founding principles.
As a Senator who works each day to stop the massive spending, bailouts, and debt that are destroying our country, I can tell you that we desperately need conservative reinforcements.
This is why I founded the Senate Conservatives Fund back in 2008 and it's why SCF is working so hard today to elect a new group of leaders in 2012 who will fight to turn this country around.
Will you help change the Senate?
The Senate Conservatives Fund has endorsed eight conservative candidates who will help strip Harry Reid of control of the Senate and fight the liberal policies that are bankrupting our country.
These eight candidates are unique in that they have conservative records, have earned support from the grassroots in their states, and have the courage to stand up for our values -- even if it means going against their own party's leadership.
These candidates--Jeff Flake, Dan Bongino, Ted Cruz, Josh Mandel, George Allen, Deb Fischer, Tom Smith, Richard Mourdock and Mark Neumann--support all of SCF's policy goals, including:
The Senate Conservatives Fund is doing two important things to help its endorsed candidates win in November.
First, SCF is raising money for each of the candidates from donors all across the nation. Money alone does not win elections, but the lack of money can certainly lose them.
Second, SCF is running powerful TV and radio ads to counter the opposition and drive home our side's message of economic freedom and prosperity.
So if you want to do something really meaningful and effective to save our country, please support the Senate Conservatives Fund and its endorsed candidates TODAY.
SCF makes it possible for you to donate directly to its eight endorsed candidates so they receive 100% of your donations.
This is a very unique approach for a third-party group and it shows exactly how committed SCF is to helping these candidates. It's also why the POLITICO newspaper called SCF a "wildly successful small-donor fundraising machine."
These are exceptional candidates who have overcome long odds to get this far, and now they urgently need your help to win in November.
Time is running out and we must work together to send true conservative leaders to Washington this year.
Thank you for doing what you can to help turn this country around.

First of all, Flake is NOT a Conservative and should be defeated. Sadly, businessman Will Cardon isn't a true Conservative and probably won't win.
I researched Richard Mourdock a few months back and wasn't convince that he's a Conservative. He's being supported by "Mr. Touchback Amnesty" Mike Pence.
Here is what Mourdock says on his Issues page about illegal immigration:
************************************************************
Richard opposes the DREAM Act and any other legislation that would provide amnesty for illegal immigrants. He believes that we must act immediately to secure our borders and enforce the law.
************************************************************
Mourdock says he's "a Constitutional Conservative" but he doesn't say whether he supports the unconstitutional Patriot Act or the NDAA. Perhaps he's okay, I don't know. Looking at the rest of his Issues page, he seems to be a Conservative.
Nebraska's Deb Fischer seems to be a Conservative. Her Immigration page is excellent, though she believes the number of illegals to be 12 million. She needs to be made aware of the 2005 Bear Stearns Report and the 2006 CAPS Panel Study.
Here's her site's Immigration page
http://debfischer2012.com/2012/04/deb-fischer-announces-plan-to-sto...
Pennsylvanian Tom Smith whose running for Senate has two boilerplate sentences on illegal immigration in
************************************************************
For far too long this national security issue has gone unaddressed by politicians in Washington. Tom knows we must secure our borders, and he opposes amnesty for those who came here illegally.
************************************************************
I would not support Tom Smith for Senate until he talks more specifically about his position on illegal immigration.
From a video in 2010 while running for Governor of Wisconsin, Mark Neumann made the following youtube video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UjPumUBITtw
After watching this video, I believe he is strong on illegal immigration and the Constitution and deserves Conservative support.
I watched a really poor interview of Dan Bongino by RightCoastJul asking Bongino about illegal immigration. The young Bongino did a good job responding and I believe is completely against Amnesty of any kind and believes in the rule of law. The Dave Levine Show would support Bongino for Senate in spite of the fact that he was endorsed by the pro-Amnesty pol Sarah Palin.
Here's that youtube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DgPiAqKuBSU
Ted Cruz is a tough one because he has no Issues page on his website and thus on his site anyway, completely avoids the subject of illegal immigration. Yet he came out saying that Romney should rescind Soetoro-Obama's Executive Amnesty at
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/08/28/ted-cruz-romney-deferred-a...
But then, I found this in an interview he did with Kathleen McKinley at rightwingnews.com.
***********************************************************
As strongly as we stand against illegal immigration, legal immigration is something completely different. To my mind it’s incredibly important that we remain a nation that not only welcomes legal immigrants, but embraces and celebrates legal immigrants.
***********************************************************
Doesn't Cruz know that 40% of LEGAL aliens (on visas and green cards) abscond and never return to their countries as required prior to their visas expiring? We let in 1.1 million legal aliens per year--that's over 400,000 who abscond, a huge number--and we have only 270 ICE agents to track them down.
I'm ambivalent about whether to support Cruz or not.
The next pol is "easy"--former Senator "Macaca Moment" George Allen, a RINO if there ever was one! How Sen. DeMint could support Allen is beyond me. Allen has nothing on Immigration, nothing.
The following from Dave Gibson on June 12, 2012 at
http://www.examiner.com/article/senate-candidate-george-allen-uncon...
Writes Gibson,
***********************************************************
As for Allen…there is nothing to report.
His official website does not even list immigration in the “issues” section.
In January, this columnist contacted the Allen campaign and asked for the former Senator’s position on illegal immigration and how he plans to deal with the current crisis…An Allen staffer could not provide any statement on the issue but promised to pass my question on to someone else within the campaign who would get back to me on the matter.
I am still waiting for that reply.
***********************************************************
And last but not least, Josh Mandel who is running for Senate in Ohio. Mandel strangely has NO position on illegal immigration as told by NumbersUSA at
https://www.numbersusa.com/content/elections/candidates/republican/...
How is this possible? I've reached out to Mandel on Facebook. We'll see if he responds. At this point, however, I cannot support a pol without a position on this critical issue.
Out of the eight Republican Senate candidates, four are unacceptable to The Dave Levine Show and I ask Sen. DeMint to withdraw support by his PAC for the following:
Jeff Flake
George Allen
Tom Smith
Josh Mandel
The other three--Fischer, Bongino and Mourdock--will be supported by the Show. The eighth, Ted Cruz, is a toss-up. I haven't decided whether to support him or not.
