South Carolina Reports Immigration Enforcement Successes With Mandatory E-verify Unit (my version of title by numbersusa.com)

Governor Haley has something to crow about! Mandatory E-verify (known as LAWA in Arizona that passed there in 2007, three years before 1070) is crucial in keeping new hire illegal aliens from getting work in the 7 LAWA states--Alabama, Arizona, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. If only California, Texas and Florida had mandatory E-verify!

 

Of course, while it's nice that things are going so well in South Carolina, we mustn't forget that Federal E-verify law only allows mandatory E-verify FOR NEW HIRES, NOT FOR CURRENT EMPLOYEES WHICH BASICALLY GIVES DE FACTO AMNESTY TO 8 TO 10 MILLION ILLEGALS WORKING FOR A PAYCHECK!

 

The Dave Levine Show has been at the forefront in calling for Congress to amend the E-verify law to allow employers to check the immigration status of their current employees as well as new or prospective hires.

 

Most people probably think that under mandatory E-verify, all employees' immigration status can be checked. Such is not the case and you don't have to go far to imagine what lobbying group was behind that part of the law!
